Why sellers like it

  • Room name with a smaller second line, such as a floor or room number
  • A lower panel for a status, team name or capacity, or leave it off
  • Three colours: backing plate, panels and letters
  • Swappable: it sticks to or slides onto a wall mount that stays put, so a renamed room needs only a new sign

Layered signs for meeting rooms

The meeting room sign stacks two panels on a backing plate: a large one for the room's name and a smaller one for a status or a team. Each layer is its own colour, so the sign looks assembled from parts though it prints in one piece.

The panels widen to fit the longest line, and both panels are always the same width.

Printing tips

  • Print it face up, as designed. The backing plate is the first colour, the panels the second, and the letters the third.
  • With only one extruder and no AMS, pause at the top of the backing plate and again at the top of the panels to change filament.

Selling tips

Offer meeting rooms as a set with an office door sign for every cabin, in the same colours. Co-working spaces and hotels often need a dozen at a time.

Questions about the meeting room sign

Can the status be changed?

The sign prints in one piece, so the status is fixed. But it hangs on a [swap wall mount](/designs/wall-mount), so changing it means lifting one sign off and putting another on: the mount stays on the wall.

How does it go on the wall?

On a swap wall mount, a small bar screwed or taped to the wall once. The sign sticks to it with magnets, or with studs it drops over the bar and slides down. It hangs from behind the room panel, so signs with and without a lower panel line up on the same bar.

How many colours does it need?

Three for the full look, such as a beige backing, black panels and gold letters. It still looks good in two if the backing and letters share a colour.
